About CP

Conceived by the artist Daniele Sigalot in 2011, Coppa Pizzeria is an international tournament of asymmetric and irregular football that reflects the imperfections of modern society and the flaws of the human condition. A large-scale collective gesture that celebrates the absurd, injustice, and ego as forms of art. A grotesque and ruthless field where every action is performative and every arbitrary decision is a political act.

For the 2025 edition, the artistic direction was entrusted to Antonello Colaps who, together with the artist and with Gianluigi Prencipe and Dopolavoro® Studio, conceived a new scenario for the tournament: a modular arena built from shipping containers, set within the port area of Naples. An ephemeral yet powerful architecture that evokes the Colosseum as a ritual space, transforming it into a temporary refuge for a nomadic tribe that gathers once a year, bringing creativity, conflict, and visions onto the field of play. A choral performative device that elevates madness to a critical and necessary language, articulating an unregulated artistic practice, removed from any logic of authorization or institutional recognition.
